For more than 20 years, Hal has been involved with boats and marine enterprises here on the coast of Maine. He has owned more than thirty boats from 20' to 65'  in both power and sail. Hal and his wife Susan have practically raised their four children on the water. His three sons have been involved with him in a number of yacht restoration projects including the current refit and conversion of a US Army T boat into a cruising yacht.

 

His experience in yacht restoration, mechanical refitting and many years of coastal cruising has given him the ability to provide valuable insight to people who want to make informed decisions when looking for the right boat. He is particularly qualified to help you find a great trawler, Downeast style boat or commercial vessel. Oakes currently holds a 100 ton Masters License
